Celebrate family & tradition at upcoming concerts

The Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College has two upcoming concerts that offer two distinct experiences for audiences.

The symphony presents the Williams Signature Classics series “Classics Alive” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 in the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education. It will include Mozart’s highly popular overture from the “Marriage of Figaro” followed by Mendelssohn’s “Concerto for 2 Pianos in Ab” with local soloists Ann Raphael and Allyson Eskitch. It will conclude with the symphony written for the sheer joy of the music, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

Then in November, get a taste of Austria when the symphony presents the TTCU Signature Pops series “A Night in Old Vienna,” a celebration of music from the Strauss family, Lehar and others. The concert is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 in the VanTrease PACE. Guests will also enjoy soprano Beverly Hoch on this evening of music.
