World Languages

To be multilingual in today's world is an asset. In the global world of tomorrow, it may be a necessity. Tulsa Community College's World Languages is a vital link that connects today's personal and business international language needs to tomorrow's international workplace. TCC's Global Education is the most extensive world language concept in Oklahoma and places a strong emphasis on proficiency. Many courses are taught by native-speaking faculty. You can find a complete listing of courses in TCC's class schedules or catalog.

World Language Laboratory

The World Language Labs on each Tulsa Community College campus are designed to meet the current and future world language needs of the people and businesses in the Tulsa area and across Oklahoma. Students may receive classroom-type instruction via independent study. Voice monitoring and voice comparison features are unique instructional aids available through the labs' computers. Computers are also available to support classroom instruction and distance learning, and to assist students enrolled in Internet world language classes at TCC and abroad. The world language laboratories are open 12 hours a day* (see lab hours below) for the convenience of day and evening students.

World Languages Offered

This program provides an in-depth study of the spoken and written language and prepares students to use the chosen language as a career skill. The courses are designed to emphasize acquisition of competency sufficient to communicate orally and in writing with a native speaker of the target language on a professional or work-related basis. TCC instructional methods infuse technology into the learning process, which increases access to resources for the language. Graduates find a variety of positions with government or social organizations and firms involved with speakers of the target language (translating, interpreting, investments, accounting, banking, education, publishing, manufacturing, sales, service, and travel).
