NEC Testing Center Policies

The Northeast Campus Testing Center is the only comprehensive Testing Center at TCC.
Because the Testing Center administers such a large number of various exams, it has a strict policy regarding personal belongings in the Center. This policy does not pertain to individuals who are requesting testing information or registering for exams.

No personal belongings or testing aids are permitted during the test session. Personal belongings mean there can be absolutely nothing taken into the examination room, except what the instructor allows (i.e., test, pencils/pens, calculator, scratch paper, etc.). Everything must be taken out of pockets and secured. All cell phones must be turned off or set to silent, as long as they do not ring or vibrate. There is a limited number of secured lockers available for you to store your personal belongings.

Testing aids and personal belongings include, but are not limited to:

  • purses
  • wallets
  • cash money
  • coins
  • book bags
  • cell phones
  • keys
  • flash drives
  • sunglasses
  • hats
  • cameras
  • personal data assistants (PDAs)
  • calculators
  • books
  • notes
  • dictionaries
  • translators
  • thesauruses

Also, there are no bathroom breaks allowed unless specified by the instructor. Once examinees enter either the pencil/paper or computerized testing rooms, they are not allowed to leave unless they have completed their exams.

For all individuals who use the Center for Make-up Exams, Distance Learning Exams (Internet Courses), GED, ACT, CLEP, TOEFL, etc., the following items are allowed in the NEC Testing Center:

  • Photo Identification (i.e., driver’s license, passport, TCC Student ID - Fall 2006 or later).
  • Any other materials necessary for your test as authorized by your instructor, (i.e., calculator, Scantron sheet, notes, books, etc.).

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the NEC Testing Center, located in the Academic and Administration Building, 918.595.7534.
