CURIOSITY Opening Reception April 22

Join us for the opening reception for the exhibition “CURIOSITY,” inspired by TCC’s Common Book I Never Thought of it That Way. This dynamic showcase features the work of Johnnie Diacon, a renowned Mvskoke artist whose art has graced the cover of Joy Harjo’s recent book, appeared on the hit TV show Reservation Dogs, and been collected across the US. The exhibition also highlights the talents of TCC students, employees, and community artists, exploring themes of discovery, inquiry, and shared experience to foster connection and understanding.

The opening reception on Tuesday, April 22 from 5 – 7 pm will be a celebration of cultures and traditions. Johnnie Diacon will give brief remarks , and we’ll enjoy catering from Shawkat’s Mediterranean Restaurant. Dancers from four different traditions will give short performances: Lexi Allen (Flamenco), Priya Raju (East Indian Classical Dance), Jessica Cajina (hip hop), and Mike Pasehtopa (Native performer and cultural educator; TCC alum).

The come-and-go style reception is free and open to the public, so invite your friends and family!
