50th Anniversary Notable Alumni Feature Drew Diamond: Tulsa Junior College, now Tulsa Community College, was the beginning factor in Drew's 50-plus year career in community policing and social justice for the people in the City of Tulsa.
“My education at TJC, was the platform that allowed me to continue my education and advance my career and personal goals,” he said. Drew was part of the third TJC graduating class, earning an Applied Science degree in 1973. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Drew started in public service as an employee the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served a few years before entering the U.S. Army and becoming an Agent in the Army Criminal Investigations Command. He later joined the Tulsa Police Department, where he rose through the ranks to become the youngest Police Chief to serve in Tulsa. After serving for 22 years with the Tulsa Police Department, he joined the Police Executive Research Forum, where he served as Director of Training and Technical Assistance for 16 years. He then served as an Administrator with Union Public Schools for two years before being named Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa in 2010.
In addition, Drew was an adjunct teacher at TCC for 12 years. He is involved in many social justice groups in the City of Tulsa and has served on 35 community boards over the years.
