Data from Tulsa Community College’s Spring 2024 semester reflect a steady upward trajectory in student enrollment, showing more than 13,500 students enrolled for the semester, an increase of nearly 400 students compared to Spring 2023. The number of full-time students enrolled at TCC jumped by 6%.
TCC is experiencing its highest year-to-year retention rate in 10 years, indicating students are satisfied with the College’s academic programs and support services.
“We are thrilled to see so many students choosing TCC for their education,” said TCC President and CEO Leigh Goodson, Ph.D. “It's a testament to the dedication of our faculty and staff and the effectiveness of the student support systems in place. We are proud to be a part of a community that values affordable, high-quality education.”
Moreover, TCC has experienced a notable uptick in total applications and students admitted, with an overall increase of about 10%. This encompasses admissions for first-time entering students, transfer students, and returning students who had previously stopped out.
“The steady increase in enrollment speaks volumes about the value and appeal of TCC's educational offerings and student services,” said Eileen Kenney, Associate Vice President of Enrollment and Retention. “We remain dedicated to providing a welcoming and enriching environment for all students, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to thrive academically and personally.”
Data show TCC’s dual enrollment program is growing in popularity, with about 3,000 high school students participating—an 8% increase from the previous year. Additionally, there was a 13% increase in students under 18 years old.
These figures come a year after TCC announced it was one of ten colleges chosen in the nation to participate in Unlocking Opportunity, a first-of-its-kind initiative from the Aspen Institute to evaluate post-graduation success to lead more students directly to jobs that pay a family-sustaining wage or to the efficient and effective completion of a bachelor’s degree.
