Tulsa area students and professional architects recently built scale model gingerbread structures that were displayed at Waterworks Art Center. This is the second year for the competition designed to challenge young students to use math and engineering and inspire them for future careers in STEM – science, technology, engineering and math.

The scale-model gingerbread structures included famous buildings like the BOK Center and London Bridge. Others were historic buildings and schools in the Tulsa area and iconic homes and architecture from across the globe.

Competition categories included: elementary school; middle school; high school; adult amateur; and adult professional. The competition is sponsored by Tulsa Alliance for Engineering and Waterworks Art Center. Tulsa area architecture firms judged the competition.
