BusinessRebecka Snyder found the balance of comfortability and affordability at TCC that she needed to pursue her education and thrive as a 2017 Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellow. But success is about more than just awards to Rebecka.
As a sex trafficking survivor, she has worked with The Demand Project to prevent other women and children from enduring the horrors of sex trafficking, and mentors sex trafficking survivors and at-risk girls in the community. Rebecka will graduate from TCC in May 2017 with associate degrees in Management, Business Administration, and Liberal Arts, and will begin pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Arkansas this fall. Her long-term goal is to open and manage a transitional housing facility for sex-trafficking victims.
As a bridge to her future, Rebecka said TCC was the perfect place for her to begin her higher-education journey.
“I was comfortable here,” she said, “I could afford it, and the Honors program is awesome.”
