BusinessAdditional financial support is now available for students applying for College Park, a four-year public university experience in partnership with Tulsa Community College and OSU-Tulsa.
The TCC Foundation is providing $10,000 for textbook vouchers for students selected for the first cohort, or group. Each College Park student will receive a $250 textbook voucher.
“The TCC Foundation recognizes College Park is an innovative student experience utilizing best practices such as a cohort, or group, learning experience and supported by resources from both institutions,” said Kari Shults, TCC vice president for advancement and president of the TCC Foundation. “With the goal to increase the number of bachelor’s degrees in the Tulsa area, College Park provides a seamless experience for students in northeast Oklahoma.”
The expanded partnership utilizes TCC’s nationally recognized experience and award-winning success in the first two years of higher education, and OSU-Tulsa’s role as a public, metropolitan urban-serving research university. Courses will be taught by TCC and OSU-Tulsa faculty with a student earning an associate degree from TCC and a bachelor’s degree from OSU.
College Park students attend classes on the OSU-Tulsa campus. With a structured student experience, full-time students will be on campus Mondays/Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. and part-time students will be on campus Mondays/Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.
“The TCC Foundation supports the College’s mission and works simultaneously to develop college graduates. We recognize our students face financial barriers, and for some, those barriers have been magnified by the pandemic. By providing scholarships and resources such as these textbook vouchers, the TCC Foundation helps individuals reach their educational goals,” said Shults.
Those interested in applying for College Park should do so before July 18 to receive full consideration. Applications submitted after July 18 will be placed on a waitlist and reviewed in the order received, if space is available. Those accepted into College Park will complete a New Student Orientation in late July and begin classes August 16.
