What are Continuing Education Units?
Continuing Education and Workforce Development at TCC offers Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses. CEUs are nationally recognized units for measuring educational participation in continuing education non-credit programs. One CEU is awarded for every 10 hours of completed coursework. CEUs provide the framework for documenting students’ efforts to update or broaden their knowledge and skills. These CEUs are accepted by many employers and professional agencies as evidence of your commitment to career advancement and the maintenance of professional competence. Courses granting CEUs do not offer academic credit.
If CEUs are required for various licensed professions, you must check with the licensing board for your profession to ensure that a course meets the educational requirements.
To ensure accurate attendance tracking, instructor(s) will take role or students may sign the attendance roster during each class. CEWD retains the right to not award CEUs if proper documentation of attendance cannot be provided. Obtaining CEUs requires minimum 70% attendance and completion of required class work. To receive a certificate documenting CEUs earned, students must submit a written request via email. CEUs are not granted for hours spent on activities such as performances, field trips, or tours.
How do I get a copy of my student CEUs record?
Verification of your CEUs will be provided upon request. Student records from our website are for personal tracking only and cannot be used to verify the number of CEUs accredited to the student. To obtain a certificate of completion with your CEUs, please submit your request to ce@tulsacc.edu. CEUs verification may take up to two weeks to be issued.
What is Credit and Non-Credit Programming?
Students may enroll through Continuing Education to attend the same classes offered for credit. This is called co-listing classes and is also referred to as credit/noncredit programming. Enrollment through Continuing Education will yield zero credit and will not build hours toward a degree plan at TCC, nor are you considered a TCC degree-seeking student; however, CEUs may be issued. In many instances, credit/noncredit classes offer students the benefits of getting the instruction you need without barriers to enrollment such as placement tests, high school transcript, or general education required for a degree.
Review materials needed for your non credit course(s) in your syllabus.
If you’re interested in enrolling at TCC as a credit student, please refer to TCC Admission for credit and degree enrollment instructions.
I am a TCC student and I have a T#, is my login information the same as MyTCC?
No, you must complete a separate Student Profile with TCC-CEWD.
When you register for any TCC-CEWD course(s), students will create a student profile with a limited amount of personal information so TCC-CEWD can maintain a record of students' attendance and/or grades. For registration purposes, we ask for the student's name, address, phone number, and date of birth. Firefox is the preferred browser to register yourself online.
TCC-CEWD uses your personal information to provided you up-to-date instructions about learning events, to notify you of any important changes, and to communicate special offers.
To register for classes online, students may pay with any major credit card. Click on "read more" to see the class description and "register" to add the course to your cart. Click the cart icon at the top to complete your brief profile information, payment, and course registration.
